I do not like Sony.  I do have 2 LCD TV’s from them, but I do not like the ethics. From Ars Technica (original):

Sony BMG will pay $1 million to the Federal Trade Commission to settle charges that it violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by collecting information on users under the age of 13 without their parents’ consent. The FTC says that the civil penalty will match the largest penalty ever paid out in a COPPA case.

Friends of mine will speak of my legendary hatred of Apple and Apple products.  This topic is my one “luxury” hate.  I often refer to the Jim Morrison idea of (paraphrase) “Gimme some death (so I can taste life)”.  Or the idea of love only exists because of hate^[1].  One final idea is a Widespread Panic (paraphrased) song “…how can the child find joy unless there was a period of without…”.  I butchered that one , I don’t listen to Widespread anymore but I still like the music.

In looking into the auto-bailout debacle I have come across some important information that is not getting out to in the public realm. I wanted to drop a fast post on this topic and possibly educate people on the problem a little more. |go to post|

Just wanted to give a shout out to anyone working on chipping down the IE presence.  Pass Firefox along.

Sh!t, pass Opera, Chrome, Safari alone!  But please, stop using and supporting any Internet Exploder pre-version 7.  All of us who work on the web beg you to upgrade or throw out the browser.

So I posted some stuff that was, well, anti-US-Auto industry.  These were some radical ideas and some nasty thoughts.  In short I could very quickly get my a$$ kicked by any number of assembly line workers.  Well, I am here to underscore my logic as well as provide some ideas on how to deal with the US auto problems. |go to post|

Or more to the point, Europe is in favor of a roaming cap.  This cap is for various data elements and avoid letting the end user get too much bill shock.

Yup, The total bail out is now $1.5 trillion.  Holy sh!t!.

I am glad to see the money going to the rich, irresponsible, and ultimately disinterested in common society.This $800 billion is to “un-freeze” the credit market and provide loans to people for school and mortgages.  Now, that’s great but… |go to post|

Well, Google is apparently running a little game with the SEC regarding the thousands of recent layoffs.  The “trimming of operational expenses” has led to thousands of layoffs that are not going into the accounting (state and fed) system.

Oh, but these 10,000 people are “temporary operational expense” employees.  Heh, nice… gotta remember that one when I need to kill off a college campus chunk of employment.
